CloudFormation Rollback During "Setup Realtime Transcription" – ResourceConflictException.

Hi everyone,

I am configuring ServiceNow Voice with Amazon Connect on my ServiceNow PDI and following the Amazon Connect Integration Setup Guide (Amazon Connect Integration → View Instance → Instance Name → Setup Guide).

I am currently on the Setup Realtime Transcription step. I downloaded the provided CloudFormation template and deployed the stack.

Problem

The CloudFormation stack rolls back with the following error:

This AWS::CloudFormation::CustomResource resource is in a CREATE_FAILED state. Received response status [FAILED] from custom resource. Message returned: See the details in CloudWatch Log Stream.

In the CloudWatch logs, I found the following error:

associateInstanceStorageConfig:
ResourceConflictException: Storage Config is already associated
ResourceType: REAL_TIME_CONTACT_ANALYSIS_SEGMENTS

To verify this, I ran the following AWS CLI command:

aws connect list-instance-storage-configs \
  --instance-id <INSTANCE_ID> \
  --resource-type REAL_TIME_CONTACT_ANALYSIS_SEGMENTS

However, the response is:

{
  "StorageConfigs": []
}

So AWS reports that the storage configuration is already associated, but listing the storage configurations for REAL_TIME_CONTACT_ANALYSIS_SEGMENTS returns an empty array.

Environment

  • ServiceNow instance: Personal Developer Instance (PDI)
  • Application: ServiceNow Voice with Amazon Connect
  • Version: 5.4.0 (latest)
  • App ID: sn_cti_amzn_cct

Questions

  • Has anyone encountered this issue before?
  • Is there another place where the REAL_TIME_CONTACT_ANALYSIS_SEGMENTS storage configuration association can be viewed or removed?
  • Could this be caused by a stale or orphaned association from a previous CloudFormation deployment?
  • What is the recommended way to resolve this issue?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
