App Engine license allocation numbers in Subscription Management

I have several custom-scoped apps that we have been using ITSM licenses for. We just renewed and got some App Engine licenses. And, we just installed App Engine.

 

What I'm confused about is, 'when I look at Subscription Management there is a large number of App Engine licenses showing as "allocated", but we've not yet allocated any of our custom tables, nor custom apps to App Engine licenses'. Where is that "allocated" number being aggregated from?

Hi Todd, Congrats on getting App Engine!

That number is likely being calculated by the number of users using custom roles associated to custom tables. Start your research in your [sys_user_has_role] table and see how many users are linked to custom roles. Also, check out this table [sn_sub_man_st_subscription_license_detail_metric] table, which is used to show the data visualzation on the dashboard.

The table mapping will prove to be helpful in clearing up the accuracy of those allocations. You SC and the extended team also have resources they can give you to do a few steps that will get everything aligned for you and your instance.

Whenever it comes to licensing, it’s better to connect with the ServiceNow Account Manager. Sometimes, the Subscription Manager may not provide the most accurate information, so reaching out to the SN Account Manager is a safer option—they can assist you better.
