How to use ATF to select a file on UI page?

Hello,
how can I use the Automated Testing Framework (ATF) to insert a file into a drag-and-drop-box of an UI page?
An example would be the file-selection on the page for importing knowledge articles. (See below)
Test step "Add Attachment to Form" does not work, because there is no "form", just UI elements.
