Issue:
- When I try to open my PDI, it shows a 500 Internal Server Error.
- The same error occurs even when navigating to different pages inside ServiceNow.
- I am unable to use my PDI properly.
- This issue is affecting my ServiceNow learning and hands-on practice.
My Questions:
- Why am I getting this 500 Internal Server Error?
- Is this a server-side issue or an instance-related issue?
- How can I fix this problem?
- Can the ServiceNow team help me restore my existing PDI without losing my data?
I am currently learning ServiceNow and need my PDI for hands-on practice.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @vinayakp2020,
Some PDIs may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. If your PDI is currently offline, you can:
- Wait for maintenance to complete and your instance to become available again.
- Release your current instance and request a new one. Please note that releasing your instance will permanently delete all data and work stored on it.
As a reminder, PDIs are unsupported development resources and do not have an availability, support, or uptime SLA. We strongly recommend regularly backing up any work you don’t want to lose.

Great to see that ServiceNow now has a bot that scans the community for any PDI related issue and pasts the same message in them. If they would make PDIs more reliable and provide the latest features on them, maybe partners and customers would be able to sell more and keep the stock price up, instead of taking it into a freefall. But that's just me (and every single other person working in the ServiceNow ecosystem).
Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.

Hello @vinayakp2020 ,
Nowdays this is common issue faced by multiple users . My PDI also went to Offline since yesterday . But dont worry in rare situation pdi dont get back online . We can just keep some patience for while . Always keep in mind if you are doing any business requirement task on pdi then always takes its backup even if task is in progress or completed so it will help in such situations .
You can also refer this servicenow admin ressponses
If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution .

Aditya
