Workspaces Custom View for roles

Hello All,

I hope you’re doing well! I’m looking for some guidance on how to customize unique views for different roles in ServiceNow. I have defined four roles—let's call them Role A, Role B, Role C, and Role D—and I want to establish custom default views for the following areas:

  1. Home & Dashboard
  2. Lists
  3. Record View

I’ve explored various approaches but haven’t found a straightforward solution. Specifically, I’ve attempted using Workspace view rules, but they don’t seem to be applying as expected. Additionally, I’ve tried using client scripts to modify the views, but I’m starting to think that might not be the right approach.

Here’s what I’m aiming to achieve:

  • When Role A logs into the application, they should see a dashboard specific to Role A that displays KPIs relevant to their role.
  • Upon navigating to Lists, they should see all the categories pertinent to Role A.

I want to implement this dynamic behavior for Roles B, C, and D as well, ensuring that each role has a tailored experience.

If anyone has insights or best practices on how to achieve this, I would greatly appreciate your input! Thank you in advance for your help.
I've attempted to follow this guide:
How to create a Workspace Experience View Rule to ... - ServiceNow Community
While it worked for only one role, it was also defaulting the views for me as "an admin" which has been tedious for me to deactivate the view rule each time I'm logged in to edit the app.
