All applications on the ServiceNow Store undergo a certification process before publication.

In addition to the initial certification, ServiceNow Store apps can require:

  • Recertification for a new app version (code changes)
  • Recertification on a newer ServiceNow release

Recertifying your app with code changes

If you already have a certified application on the ServiceNow Store and intend to make changes to the code or its listing, you must re-submit the app for app and listing re-certification. For example, you have created a scoped application called "ScopedApp" v1.0.0 which is already certified and published in the Store, and want to update its version to v.1.0.1 because you have new features or have fixed defects.  For more information see Recertifying your app with code changes

Recertifying for new ServiceNow releases

If you already have a certified application listed on the ServiceNow Store and do not intend to make any changes to the code or current listing, you can recertify the app for a new ServiceNow release.

How to recertify an app on a newer ServiceNow release

To recertify your app for a newer ServiceNow, follow these steps:

  1. Upgrade one of your vendor instances to the latest release. You can request an instance upgrade in HI support: HI Service Portal - ServiceNow You can also request (purchase) an additional vendor instance here: https://partnerportal.service-now.com/partnerhome?id=tpp_instances_details
  2. Test your application on the newest release. Run through your entire Test. Take your time and ensure that everything is in working order. While the platform persists support across major releases, it is up to you to ensure each piece of your application is as expected.   Thorough testing will help ensure a smooth certification process for you.
  3. Ensure all functionality persists - if no changes have been made to your application for this new release, everything should be in working order.
  4. Complete/Update a revised version of your Scoped Application Test Plan along with the results. This will be interrogated by the certification team.
    1. Find your application to be recertified here: https://tpp.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/tpp/certify
    2. Click the "Request Certification" link:

Hi @Saikiran Guduri,

I have a certified application on the store, and I need to update the pricing from free to paid. What is the process to do so?

Hi @Vaibhav Paliwa2,

Price type change requires submission of a new version for certification. Please check with the Certifier worked with you for any more questions on this topic.

Thanks,
Saikiran

@Ranarajput, Recertification of an app with no code changes supporting new family release are done faster in days where as the recertification with code changes requires time to review and it takes time according to various factors such as :

1. Amount of changes introduced (Intentional, Unintentional/accidental changes)

2. Test failures (For existing checks+new checks)

3. Response times during back and forth conversations between partners and certifiers

@SumitSBroadcom

Based on the reason selected during app withdrawal, TPP either allows/blocks republishing. Please check in TPP under the withdrawn applications section.

If the app was withdrawn automatically due to non maintenance, you can submit a new version for certification.

In case of access issues with either TPP or vendor instances please reach out to ServiceNow Support via Support Portal.
