What is Automation Center?
ServiceNow® Automation Center provides a centralized view to manage the full life cycle of automations from multiple vendors across the business. A unified automation platform enables you to eliminate islands of automation making it easier to manage and measure the health of the automation and prevent automation failures across multiple vendors.
Automation Center Features:
- Discover, prioritise, and manage automation requests from various sources through the full life cycle in Automation Center workspace.
- Align each automation with established department goals of speed, productivity, and risk reduction.
- Gain end to end visibility on how automations are impacted by changes

3.1 Installing Automation Center
If you have the admin role, you can install the Automation Center application (sn_ac). The application includes demo data and installs related ServiceNow® Store applications and plugins if they aren’t already installed.
- Navigate to ServiceNow store and search for Automation Center or click on Automation center
- Click on Request Install
- In the window that opens, give the instance name, reason for request, and click on “Request”
- Once the installation is approved
a) Log into the instance where the app has given entitlement to.
b) Navigate to System Applications > All Available Applications > All.
c) Search for Automation Center
d) Select a version from the list and select Install.
e) If demo data is available and you want to install it, select the Load demo data check box.
f) Demo data comprises the sample records that describe application features for the common use cases. Load the demo data when you first install the application on a development or test instance.
Downloading will take around 2 hours. If CMDB CI class model is not already installed, it will install it now.
Once the installation is completed you should be able to see “Automation Center Workspace” under Workspaces in the home page of your instance

3.2 Create Automation Goal
Click on Automation goal from lists
Click on New and create your automation goal
3.3 Create Automation Request Through Service Catalog
Locate the Service Catalog among the various applications on the instance
Click on the item ‘Can We Help You?
Click on ‘Submit an Automation Request’
You will see the Automation Request form as shown below:
- Type the details and click on Submit
3.4 Create Automation Task and Resources
Once a request is created you can create one or more tasks and resouces under each request
After completion click on “Publish” to Publish the Automation Request
