This video tackles the initial setup of Microsoft Azure integration with ServiceNow. Most often, customers have not set up a "service principal" which is a special credential needed in Azure to make the integration possible. While this procedure changes from time-to-time, I wanted to show folks how to navigate the process as it is, today.

FAQ's:

  1. How do we set up support for Azure in ServiceNow?
  2. What is a Service Principal?
  3. What is an Azure Tenant ID?
  4. What is an Azure Client ID?
  5. How can I import my billing data from Azure into ServiceNow?
  6. Where do I find my Azure Enrollment Number?
  7. How can I generate Azure "secret key" credentials?

This video is in reference to our "CMPv1" which is still available. Here are the same topics covered for "CMPv2."

Chapter 2: Cloud accounts, Azure, AWS, and VMware - YouTube

I do not have one for Azure AD. While it does technically say "Azure," that is not an area of expertise for me.

Hi,

I'd like to provision a VM in Azure from ServiceNow, but it seems like CreateStack method failed with "java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to execute API - Failed with status code and message: 404: {"message":"No HTTP resource was found that matches the request URI 'https://management.azure.com/subscriptions/...".

Honestly, I do not understand what the "Stack Name" in General info tab mean and therefore I just put "stack01". But it did not work. Can anyone help me here?

I have to ask the dumb question, first, but ... you have a MID server set up, right?

After that, I would suspect a credential issue with Azure: Some part of setting up the Service Principal is incorrect.

Hi zack,

In your previous video(Chapter 2: Cloud accounts, Azure, AWS, and VMware), you added records to "cloud account" table. I am unable to find (cloud infrastructure > cloud accounts) module in my personal instance.

I already activated "cloud management" plugin. is there any other plugin needs to be activated?

Could you please help me on this.

Thanks,

Prity
