We have a few users that have trouble seeing smaller text so they zoom their screen in to the point it cuts off the right side of the navigation bar. This includes the gear menu and the global search.

I saw a post where you were able to move the update set out of the gear menu because as a developer you may be constantly switching between update sets and you need to see which one you are on in a glance.

I then took this idea and applied it to the homepage button, the printer friendly version button, and I even pulled the global search down and put it to the right of the users name.

This is an example of a demo site

This is where I ended up moving everything.

Attached is the Code for the Global UI script.

Mark Stanger did the original update set fix that you can find here.

Nice work Tyler!

I've used this for the Update Set menu, like the idea of using it for others.

I believe it was Mark Stanger that posted the "fix" previously.

Yes, it was the Great Mark Stanger that did the original update set "fix" I didn't see anything about the global search or the other buttons that I moved out, so I thought I would post it in case anyone else wanted to do it.

FYI, Fuji (UI15) breaks this pretty well.

The article here:   Re: UI14 Update Set Picker

Has a working version at the bottom that does an okay job getting it back, though it's not perfect.
