This simulator, part of the CMDB Fundamentals course on Now Learning, will assess your understanding of working with the CMDB Health Dashboard, various scorecards, metrics, duplicate CIs, CI reclassification, Query Builder, and remediation.

This micro-certification simulator is designed as an adaptive tool to enhance testing and learning through its interactive tasks.

Adaptive simulators operate on three levels:

  1. Hardest (Expert Level): Top-level instructions are presented first.
  2. Medium (Proficient Level): Mid-level instructions are provided if needed.
  3. Beginner Level: Basic instructions are offered at the third and lowest level.

Morning @glenn_pinto ,  Hope all is ok ? 
I know i have done some thing wrong, been through this couple of times now, I am getting the incorrect data on task 10. My results of records on the CMDB Query builder is 68 and on Compliance metric, i am getting 54 records. I have also noticed that in the remediation task, i am not seeing the customer support etc, all i am seeing on  the work notes are cost center, company and assigned to 

- Cost Center: Customer Support

- Company: ACME Australia

- Assigned to: Kyle Ferri.

All of my task are completed til Task 11

@ACripps Your numbers are correct. There is a note at under the screen shot for task 7 that says: 
NOTE: 54 of 123 Windows Servers or 44% failed the audit resulting in a Compliance score of 56%. If you performed the task titled, Remediate Duplicates, before completing this task, your audit metric will display 54/122 instead. 

The 54 that is listed are the 54 that failed, resulting in 68 that were successful which should match the result of your query of 68. 

For the remediation task, after it is completed, you can navigate to the Windows server table, find the record, open it, and you should see the merged attributes that are part of the record. The verification for this task states:

From the Windows Server list of records, verify there is only one record for Server OWA-SD-01 with the following attributes:

- Cost Center: Customer Support

- Company: ACME Australia

- Assigned to: Kyle Ferri

Hi @glenn_pinto

It fails on Task6,12,13.
Since Task6 is correcting duplicates in Task10, records are deleted, so the number of records is 122, but other than that, I think there is no problem.

Tasks 12 and 13 are also consistent with the results of community research, but an error occurs.

@glenn_pinto I am struck in task7, though i run the scheduled job still i am getting "Did you execute the scheduled job for the Compliance scorecard to update the dashboard? Your results should match the graphic." failed result. Please help me.

I am attempting to validate Task 2. 

I set all CMDB health job to True but there is no list returned for cmdb_health_metric_status.list

I have already terminated an instance and requested another instance, but I am getting the same results.

@VivPhillips After setting job to true, did you manually execute them from the button provided in the scheduled job?

Important Update for November 6, 2023 on CMDB Simulators:

 

Today we released new simulators for Configure the CMDB and CMDB Health on the Vancouver release. Both these simulators have been converted to the new adaptive simulator type, which provide additional guidance and solutions to complete tasks. These new simulators should assist users with better opportunities to learn and complete all tasks.

So Support sent me here and maybe I can get an opinion. I have had to put in several tickets. While I have done everything as instructed, The Completeness and so far Compliance Jobs are not running correctly. I have watched all the videos, multiple chats with support. The option of terminating my instance and starting over was brought up because my instance was not reporting what it should. My question is, if my instance is terminated and given a new one, do I have to redo the configure CMDB AND the the Health Dashboard or do I just have to redo the multiple steps for the health dashboard?  I have been fighting this for over a week and my level of frustration is rather high.

It is (unfortunately) not just one task. It failed at Task 2 when the Completeness job failed to update (although the Show All CI shows all 146 (23 Unix 123 Windows). Task 4 location/owned by/support group were fine, but Completeness Job never updated even when job was executed. Watched video support sent- all matched except Completeness job never updated to match. Task 5 Should have failed but validated.  When the audit is run, it does not show any audit results, simply returns to window audit. Compliance job does not update.

I was able to go into your instance and there were a few things not configured correctly.

1. There were health inclusion rules that were created for various classes including the Windows Server class that was excluding certain servers from the scorecards. I removed these and the full set of Windows Servers then were calculated on the scorecards for the group.

2. Under the audit certification filter for the windows server class, there were filters configured that were not necessary as the filter of 2012, 2016 and 19 servers is done under the certification template tab.

3. Once all the compliance tabs are configured correctly, from each record, it is important that you reference the wanted filter, template etc as I noticed some of the references were not correctly set.

 

I have attached some screenshots of a few of the items I updated, but if you go to the group compliance scorecard, it should reflect the correct metrics now. Inclusionrules.jpgfilter2.jpgfilter.jpg

Thank you for helping to figure it out. I understand the unnecessary filter. I would not have figured out to look at the inclusion rule which was the root of the issue many of the problems. I am grateful for your time.

I am facing the issue on assignment 11 , where value of 68 is populating for me and I have also updated the Description. Can anyone kindly help why it is validating as failed for me. Getting the below even after creating it.

Hi @glenn_pinto  and learners,

 

I need your advise.. 

I am in Task 13.. my last task... and then go for the course.

   

I have gone through all the steps provided and reviewed them many times over, everything looks as requested. Still, not able to complete it.

This is the message I get.

 After reviewing each step, I execute the correctness Health job.. and the other jobs.. just in case.  

Then, I go to step 6

follow the instructions provided 

I open the Server AUS01-EXCH Orphan Task, as expected the short description is blank (not values).

I  press the Remediate button, select the Remediate Orphans workflow,

The workflow executes..  

click Next and close the dialog box 

I go back to the record, the short description still blank

I go back to the list of records with orphan tasks, 

I reopen AUS01-EXCH Orphan Task, still the Short description has not values.

 

My guess, my workflow is not working.. updating the Short description.

@FranciscoH the issue is in your Set Values activity. Use curly brackets instead of parenthesis:

As exercise for the CIS-DF Certificate i would like to redo this simulator, though i cannot find anywhere the possibility to restart it . Any links ?
