Why did CMDB show an outdated IP for an existing CI ??

Hi All,

We recently noticed that a CI had an outdated IP in CMDB, even though the CI was discovered with a new IP.

How can we ensure that discovery automatically updates existing CIs when their IPs change in the future?

@Arjun Arjun What do you mean when you say, discovery discover CI with New IP ? Discovery works with IP address. Discovery automatically updates existing CI's IP if it changed. Also, IP address will not be lone attribute to discover any CI.

For example, there is a Server CI -> TestServer1 with IP address 1 and in the later discovery, TestServer1 would be discovered and IRE will check other attributes like name, Serial Number and realize that this CI already exists and will just update all the other details (as part of this, IP address also might get update to IP Address 2).
