Hi All,
I am looking for guidance on a requirement related to Word document generation in ServiceNow.
The requirement is that when a specific recommendation/request is submitted, the system should automatically generate five pre-populated Word documents based on client-provided templates. The documents should be populated with data from the underlying record and made available as draft documents for users to download, update if required, and then re-attach the finalized versions back to the record before moving to the next state.
Some example documents include:
- Technology Analysis & Assessment Report
- Financial Impact Summary
- Architectural Alignment Review
- Risk Register Entry
- Recommendation Memo
I would like to understand:
- Does ServiceNow support auto-generating multiple Word documents from predefined templates?
- Can fields from a record and its related records be mapped directly into Word template placeholders?
- Can the generated documents be attached automatically to the originating record?
- Has anyone implemented a similar solution using ServiceNow Document Generation or another approach?
Any suggestions, implementation experiences, licensing considerations, or relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
