“Hi everyone, I will be taking an exam via Pearson VUE online proctoring.

Can someone please confirm whether the built-in laptop camera is acceptable, or if an external webcam is required?”

Hi Shivani,

Your built-in laptop camera is sufficient. They have that requirement because if the person monitoring you during the exam hears any sound nearby he will ask you to turn your laptop around , or even carry it around to confirm nobody's near you providing the answers. 

As long your laptop does not weigh a ton and it is not difficult to carry it, you are ok 😀

@shivaniindu - I finished my exam last week. An external camera isn't required, so just use your built-in one. Test it first, and be sure to restart your laptop before starting. Make sure all other apps are closed; I had a plugin issue that forced me to reschedule and change laptops, so definitely double-check your background processes!

I personally recommend you just try to  give exam from servicenow exam center , because if any glitch happens then it get sort out by them(servicenow exam staff) . Incident happened with my colleague, so he advice me dont try to give from your device or from home . Always prefer servicenow exam center for mainline exams 🙂 .
