Hi @boydg1862
As per my knowledge - ServiceNow uses the same ServiceNow ID across all platforms, but enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) differs between portals. Now Learning generally mandates MFA for security.
- Now Learning: Because it tracks credentials, courses, and certifications, ServiceNow University actively enforces MFA setups (like email OTP, SMS, or authenticator apps) during login.
- ServiceNow Community: Community and Developer instances use the ServiceNow ID system but typically only enforce MFA when using direct username/password logins if a context policy is explicitly enabled
Refer: Multi-factor Authentication context
Enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) based on the IP Network
Multi-factor Authentication with Single Sign-On

Hi @boydg1862
Possible causes for the issue you mentioned:
- Account mismatch: Your ServiceNow Community account and University profile may not be linked correctly (e.g., after an email change, company change, or account merge).
- SSO issue: You're using the wrong sign-in method or encountering an SSO redirect/login loop. OR
- Your ServiceNow ID isn't fully associated with your Now Learning profile, entitlements, or certification records.
Troubleshooting: - Clear browser cache and cookies, or try an incognito/private window.
- Sign in directly to learning.servicenow.com (or nowlearning.servicenow.com).
- Verify your ServiceNow ID and profile details.
Please accept the solution and mark it helpful if it helped you.
Regards,
Vinayak

Hello @boydg1862 , You should be able to log in to ServiceNow University after successfully entering the MFA token sent to your registered email ID. In fact, there is a link available to ServiceNow University on the developer site (developer.servicenow.com) that logs you in directly without asking for credentials, though you will still need to enter the MFA token.

Nishant

Thanks all for the information and advice. I took a break from training. Came back later to the same session, using the same password (saved in my password list), tried again and got right in and have had no issues since. Not sure what was causing the issue, but I did try incognito mode, complete reboots, cache dumps, etc.. <shrugs> it’s working now.
