Developer Instance no longer available ( after 3 days )

My development instance is no longer available. I was still working in it three days ago. I know from a colleague that he had the same problem. My developments have now been completely in vain. Or does anyone have a solution for this? This makes an extremely miserable impression of ServiceNow. I'm now just waiting for the productive instance to be shredded by these experts. If service"no" is not able to keep the features they offer stable, they should just say so.

Hi @TWillems

I've been using PDI without any issues since this morning, but I've noticed several posts in the community about PDI being offline. Here are some points to consider:

  1. There is no support available for PDI.
  2. If you can wait, let's wait a bit longer.
  3. You can release this instance and start a new one, but you will lose your previous data. To avoid losing update sets in the future, make sure to take regular backups of your PDI.

Hi @TWillems

I understand how frustrating it can be to lose your work on a PDI. In the future, you can use this guide to back up your PDI: Backup your PDI

It explains how to regularly export your work, like update sets and applications, to ensure you can easily restore them if your instance gets reclaimed. Hopefully, this helps avoid similar issues moving forward!

Hi @TWillems

I get the frustration but in this life you get what you pay for and ServiceNow PDIs are free. ServiceNow's uptime stats for its paying customers are pretty impressive, certainly above five nines.

Also, there seems to have been an especially high volume of unscheduled maintenance affecting PDIs over the past month, so keep waiting and yours will more than likely come back once they sort the issue out. That was my personal experience a couple of weeks ago.

And going forward, follow @Mimi Edet's advice re getting into the habit of backing up.
