user is typing "Ordinateur" in French can the search translate and show items related to "Computer"

Hello everyone,
note: Ordinateur is a French word which means computer in English.
i have question related ServiceNow AI Seach capability, some the user of my portal are both French speaking and English also. so sometimes they search in French language instead of English.

so i wanted to ask that if a French user comes in and type "Ordinateur" can ServiceNow translate this into English and show search related to computer.

in my instance no catalog item or knowledge item are present in French and default language of the user is set to English for now.

please let me know if this possible to achieve or not? is yes then please guide me how can i do this.

and also end user does not understand the difference between computer and workstation, how can i make it that when they search for workstation then the search result of computer also shows them including the search result for workstation. 


please help me need your help urgently.

Just because you think ServiceNow should work in a certain way, doesn't mean it does. You could use synonyms for this as well, even though it's not synonyms. And when you do, you will run a huge risk when you start using 2 languages in the way the system is meant to be used, because then any English user typing in 'computer' will also get all French articles. Just don't do it.

Why do you think ServiceNow should work like this? If you type 'ordinateur' in Google, it will also show you French articles. It won't show you the English ones, because the word simply isn't in there. 
You can translate ServiceNow for users that are in a different language. ServiceNow is not a translating platform.

 

It is never a good idea to solve people behavior with technology. So users should use the language they are in and if you have multiple languages on your system, you should also make sure the content is available for the users in their language.

The first part: if a user logs in in French, he should be able to find the stuff he needs, but if he is logged in in English, the system won't find 'ordinateur', because it's not there. It would also be weird that if some one asks for French information, English stuff comes up. If you want users to be able to search in their own language, you need to make the instance bi-lingual (including knowledge and catalogs). Why have the plugin to change languages if you don't develop for both?

Regarding the first part, I completely understand that the system won't find 'ordinateur' because it doesn't exist in the data. However, my request is that if a user searches in a language different from their default language, ServiceNow should detect this, translate the word into the user's current language, and display the relevant search results accordingly.

for example : A user's default language is English, but they search for "ordinateur" (French for "computer"). Since "ordinateur" doesn’t exist in the system's English database, ServiceNow should recognize that the user is searching in a different language, translate "ordinateur" to "computer", and then display relevant search results for "computer" in English.
