Is there a way to save the settings made in the personalize form of the case details so that when you logout/login again the view remains as per your chosen settings ?

you sure it's not working cause I just tested on my PDI, it works even after logout/in.
Also my PDI is on Zurich release.
FYI: When you use the "Configure > Form Layout" option on a form, you are modifying a specific "view." These changes are saved as a user preference associated with that view. The next time you open a record that uses that same view, your personalized layout will be displayed.
