I built a simple facilities maintenance request application using Creator Studio.

#BuildWithCreatorStudio

The Facilities Maintenance Request application built to manage facility-related issues. This app allows users to submit requests for various types of maintenance, such as electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and lpg gas issues, through a simple submission form. Based on the issue type and description the request will automatically route to the appropriate work group. Requester receives notification when their request is approved, and task is assigned to the appropriate work group. Assigned work group and assigned to member get notified when new request assigned to them.

Key Features of the Application:

>> Request Submission form: Requesters can submit maintenance requests through a form that includes fields like issue type (e.g., Electrical Issues, Plumbing Issues, Air Conditioning Issues, LPG Issues), location, and a description. The form auto-fills the requester’s information and requires the selection of an issue type.

>> Approval Stage: Assigned personal can approve or reject service request.

>> Automatic Routing: The app automatically routes requests to the appropriate work group based on the selected issue type. For example, an electrical-related issue would be routed to the Electrical Work Group, while plumbing issues would be routed to the Plumbing Work Group.

>> Notifications: The app sends real-time notifications to requester and assignment group and assigned member at different stages of the request. When a request is submitted, the requester is notified via email.

This solution streamlines the process, increases efficiency by automating request routing, improves communication with users through notifications, and offers analytics for continuous improvement. It’s an ideal solution for managing facility maintenance in an organized, transparent, and user-friendly manner.

Excited to share that I completed the  challenge!

I built a Patient Referral Management application using Creator Studio. The app is designed to streamline Patient Referral process.

The Patient Referral Form is the primary interface through which GPs or healthcare providers submit patient referrals for specialist care. It captures critical details about the patient and the referral, such as:

  • Patient Name: Selectable from existing user records or a custom patient database.
  • Date of Birth: Ensures accurate identification of the patient.
  • Referral Type: Indicates the specialty required (e.g., cardiology, radiology).
  • Referral Reason: Provides context about the patient's condition, guiding the specialist.
  • Priority: Determines the urgency of the referral (Emergency, Urgent, Routine).
  • GP/Referring Provider: Links the referring doctor to the referral.
  • Specialist: Assigns a specialist for the consultation.
  • Referral Status: Tracks the referral from creation through completion.

This form ensures that all relevant information is captured accurately, and the system is designed to initiate automated process flow with playbook based on the form data.

Automation Process and Approvals

Once a referral is submitted via the form, a series of background automation processes are triggered to ensure the smooth progression of the referral through various stages. These automated flow minimize manual intervention, speed up the process, and maintain consistency in patient care.

  1. Approval :
    • After submission, the system can route the referral to an appropriate care coordinator or department head for approval, based on the referral type and urgency.

  1. Task Generation for Appointment Scheduling:
    • Once the referral is approved, the system automatically generates a task for appointment scheduling.
    • A care coordinator or specialist is assigned the task to arrange an appointment based on availability.
    • The system updates the Appointment Schedule table with details like the patient’s name, specialist, and proposed appointment date.
    • The patient and the specialist are notified of the appointment through email, ensuring that all parties are kept informed.

ServiceNow Creator Studio offers a user-friendly, no-code interface that enables you to rapidly transform your app ideas into fully functioning applications in under an few hours!

Hello Community!

Who hasn’t caught an episode of “Shark Tank”? Inspired by its dynamic format, I thought, why not bring that exciting concept into the workplace and transform it into a fun and engaging way to solve real business challenges.

As part of #BuildWithCreatorStudio, I developed a simple app called Creatify’  leveraging Creator Studio. This app can help any organization to set up its own "Internal Shark Tank”, empowering employees to collaborate and brainstorm creative solutions to pressing business problems.

Here’s a brief overview of how it works:

  • The organization presents a business challenge. This could range from increasing efficiency in a specific department to enhancing customer satisfaction. The challenge is clearly defined to guide participants.

  • Employees interested in participating form teams and submit their proposed solutions through the ‘Creatify’ app, encouraging diverse perspectives and collaboration.

  • Managers review each proposal, providing approval, requesting revisions, or rejecting submissions, with automatic email notifications sent for each decision. This ensures that only well-thought-out ideas progress to the next stage.

  • The top five proposals are forwarded to a judging panel via the application.

  • Selected teams present their ideas during a lively in-person session, where judges assess creativity, practicality, and potential impact. This engaging format simulates the Shark Tank experience, fostering excitement among participants.

  • Finally, the winner is announced, along with the first runner-up and the audience favorite, and the chosen solution can be implemented within the organization, effectively addressing the business challenge.

‘Creatify’ automates submissions, approvals, and email notifications for every step, making the process smooth and efficient. Thanks to Creator Studio's user-friendly interface, I was able to quickly design and customize the workflows.

What I loved the most is how Creator Studio's drag-and-drop feature simplifies the app-building process, allowing users to easily design forms and customize workflows without needing any coding skills. This no-code functionality empowers individuals to drive meaningful solutions to real business challenges with ease.

As a part of #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge, I am adding screenshots showcasing my experience in building 'Valet Car Parking' app- a user friendly, no code solution for easily handling valet car parking.

The valet car parking app is designed to streamline the process of getting a valet assigned to park your car from arrival of your car till the time it's returned back to you as the car owner.

Here's how it works:

Park my Vehicle: A form submission to keep a track of your car that has just arrived along with the car number and name of the car owner so the car doesn't get misplaced or is handed over later wrongly.

Vehicle parking lifecycle: an automated process to assign a valet from the group of Valet's to park my car on arrival, add a task to the valet to park the car and add the parking location to the task form. Send an email to the valet group and car owner informing about the parking location to keep everyone aware of the parking spot.

Using Creator Studio helps developers to quickly build and customize app like Valet car parking application in ServiceNow with intuitive tools and pre-build components.

Hello, I am excited to share that I have successfully completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge!

I have built a simple application "Parking place reservation request" catalog item using ServiceNow's new Creator Studio.

Creator Studio is a tool available from the Xanadu release of ServiceNow, where you can quickly sketch up and build simple applications which uses requests, provide workflow logic including tasks, approvals, decisions, simple automated steps. All of these without writing a simple line of code.

Using my application a user can request parking place reservation. You must provide your license plate number as this will serve for identification of your vehicle as you try to enter the garage. Do you have a truck which does not fit the garage? No problem, you can park in an open parking lot behind the building. You also able to select some further attributes as if you need electric charging during your stay or you need a barrier-free parking place which provides more space to move around your car. The permission for driving in the open parking lot is handled by a different group which requires special approval. The requestor always receives a feedback on the result of the request workflow if there is available space for the requested time and car type, or if driving in requires special permission, is it approved or not.

Creating the application described above did not take more than 1 hour for the first try, and I think this could be built in maximum 20 minutes as you have already experience using the tool. Creator Studio can be used by non-developer people as it does not require any deeper developer knowledge regarding ServiceNow.

I would recommend that you also give it a try, as this really can speed up your discussion with the business people, and later on they can also build the main flow for their requirements and all you have to do is approve and publish the application.

I built a simple "Time Off Request Form" Application with the help of Creator Studio. With the help of this low code interface, I was able to create this application in very little time It includes the employee raising a Time Off request through a catalog item and we have a playbook that helps the respective agent with step-by-step instruction by routing request for an approval to the employee-manager and sending a mail to the employee once the leave request is approved.

1. Employee Name is populated with current logged in user.
2. Employee can select leave Type such as sick leave , PTO, Maternity, etc.
3. Employee can select Start Date and End Date.
4. Employee can add their comments for managers visibility.

Some of the key features of Creator Studio are as follows:
. User-Friendly Interface
. Guided Automation
. Comprehensive Preview and Deployment Options
. Enhanced Collaboration

Hello All,

Excited to share that I completed the #BuildWithCreatorStudio challenge!

What is Creator Studio ?

Creator Studio is designed with non-developers in mind, offering a guided, intuitive environment for building request-based applications. A guided experience with drag and drop canvas.

It offers some key features like -

  • User-Friendly Interface
  • Guided Automations
  • Comprehensive Preview and Deployment Options
  • Enhanced Collaboration

As part of this challenge, I built a Request Hybrid Working Exception App using creator studio, designed to streamline how employees can request hybrid working and remote work equipment required. The entire process is automated, from request submissions to approvals which is created by using creator studio. I have utilized Playbooks to automate critical workflows, such as assigning approvals for the manager and generating task for IT team if the remote work equipment is also requested.

How it works:

AhamadunnisaM_0-1728206691928.png

This request form is used to request for hybrid working exception and remote work equipment. Once the request is submitted it will trigger the playbook for the approval of the manager for the request and once the request is approved by the manager if the requestor need remote work equipment it will automatically create a task for IT team to fulfill the request.
