What's the field type of company names? What process is this supporting?
My immediate thought is that this sounds like foundational data. If this is part of an onboarding process, perhaps these companies should be created in core_company as part of onboarding and a field created to store company code and/or the classification. If this is part of something else, should this data be pre-fetched?
