About the "Run Preview Again" button for update sets

When I get an error message before committing an update set, I see a "Run Preview Again" button on the screen, what does this button do?

Pressing the "Run Preview Again" button resolves most errors and allows you to commit the update set.

I would like to know why this button makes it possible to commit.

Thank you in advance.

When you have issues, these might be caused by missing customer updates in other update sets. If this is the case, and you understand it - you can go and commit the other update set, containing the changes, causing issues with your current update set. Once the other US is committed, maybe some of (or all issues/conflicts) are resolved, Pressing Run Preview Again will then reevaluate the whole situation and check if there are any other conflicts. Basically it is retriggering the preview process, which initially happens only once when the US is retrieved from the lower instance.

Hello @Daiki Shinohara ,

when you try to load the xml of the update set the first step is to preview the update set which shows the errors in your update set and if you resolve them automatically it shows the commit button which commits your update set .

f the system property glide.update_set.auto_preview is set to true, the system automatically starts the preview process after the update set is retrieved. If this property is false, the preview process must be started manually.

  1. Navigate to System Update Sets > Retrieved Update Sets.
  2. Click Preview Update Set.

So apart from the above process if you in the process to resolve errors like missing customer updates or local update found  and still if there are left out you can see the run preview again button or if all the errors are resolved or skipped this button appears and it just runs the preview once again just like double checking

After this you can commit the update set if the run preview again confirm with no errors

running the preview again is an optional one

please mark my answer correct if it helps you
