Adding a record

I am trying to add a record into a table using the ATF test cases using Record Insert. The purpose is to only use these records for the cases I would like to generate. Once ran the test case, I am unable to find the record anywhere. What would be the best approach for this situation?

Try using open existing record >>record insert

if it is opening, it is working, if not then you are missing something.

I wanted to add a new record, not existing. The way I went about it is by inserting a record since it's a new record. Do you know why that happens?
