approval history not appearing for itil user

I'm working on workflow and I was told to change the type name in workflow. when I changed the type name everything is working fine for the admin user but for the itil user the approval history is disappearing as soon as he approves a request but if he rejects a request then he can see the approval history. I have checked for ACL's itil user has all the necessary rights and I have compared the workflow in DEV and TEST instance the triggering of workflow is same. So what is causing the approval history to disappear for itil user
