Hello Experts,
I have created a custom field on the "cmdb_ci_hardware" table. Now, I want to map that custom field to a custom field in an asset class. I can easily map fields for out-of-the-box (OOTB) configurations in the asset CI mapping module, but I am encountering an issue when trying to map custom fields.
Please guide me on what steps should i take to fulfill this requirement.
Thank You.

Hello @Saurabh Gupta ,
Could you please clarify on which class you created the custom field? If I'm not mistaken, it appears that you created the custom field on the base class, which is why you are able to map the field. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. Thank You.

I have a similar issue where there are two custom fields on the Asset table alm_hardware which show fine in the Asset to CI mapping. However the out of the box fields on the CMDB ci extended table for SIM card are not available to map to and i can't find a way to now map them.
In my case i have Sim number and phone number as custom fields on the Asset table (Not created by me i'm dealing with legacy work here), and i can see table wise in the Sim card cmdb table that there is a Sim number and Mobile number fields, but they don't show in the Asset to CI mapping drop down.
I wondered if it was just a dictionary thing as surely servicenow isn't so limited that you can only map to fields on the base ci table?
