Hello Experts,
I have created a custom field on the "cmdb_ci_hardware" table. Now, I want to map that custom field to a custom field in an asset class. I can easily map fields for out-of-the-box (OOTB) configurations in the asset CI mapping module, but I am encountering an issue when trying to map custom fields.
Please guide me on what steps should i take to fulfill this requirement.
Thank You.

Did anyone find a solution to this?
I have the same issue, the custom fields do not appear in dropdown on new record for alm_asset_ci_field_mapping table.

Based on the documentation the custom fields must be created in the base tables on both sides (alm_asset and cmdb_ci).
"You can't map the asset and CI fields if the asset value is present only in the Hardware [alm_hardware] table and not in the Asset [alm_asset] table."
"Select the logically associated field from the Configuration Item fieldlist that refers to the cmdb_ci table."
