ATF "Set Component Value" Step Displays sys_id Instead of Display Value

We are encountering an issue while creating an ATF test step using "Set Component Value". For a reference field, even though the display value is set to the name field, the label in the test step shows the sys_id of the record instead of the expected name. We have verified that the dictionary entry for the reference field has the correct display value set. Kindly assist in resolving this issue or advise if any additional configuration is required.
