We recently had to update our customer instances and used the ATF test generator and cloud runner for testing. It allowed us to quickly set up tests for new features and run them from multiple locations simultaneously. The real-time results helped us spot and fix issues instantly, ensuring a smooth experience for their B2C.

Hi there,

About 2 months ago we started exploring ATF test generator and cloud runner. You can get it up and running pretty quickly, do be aware that it won't work immediately, you will see a prompt that it can take 24 hours because ServiceNow needs to configure something (took for us about half an hour).

Cloud runner works fine, pretty smooth. Do be aware, there is a limit on the number of cloud runners. If wanting more... you have to pay 🙂 Also easy to configure, less than an hour should be possible (and that without any prior knowledge of cloud runner). Do be aware, this runs on servers from ServiceNow, so they might retrieve information from your instance which not every company will approve. Do check that with your company.

I was thinking of writing an article on this, though haven't had the time yet.

For Test generator, I'm not convinced yet about the quality. It does create a lot of tests, though also... more quantity than quality. Perhaps we need to give this a few store release updates before its to a higher level.

O and lastly... this does not work on a PDI 🙂

we have started to automate the testing for our platform, creating atf for each module, may take more than generating tests, 

I will keep in mind about the policies 

but if it’s approved, 

does it allow to generate test and run those in client runner instead of cloud? 
and the time take to develop atf for entire platform might be less than generating and running.
