ATF Update Set Question

Hi,

Please read carefully. I will write it down in simple steps.

In the last sprint in our company, this is what happened.

In DEV, I have created a parent update set with the name SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_ITSM with the child update sets SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_GLOBAL, SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_INCIDENT, SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_PROBLEM, and SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_CHANGE.

We migrated to TEST. All of the tests in all the update sets worked fine but for 2 tests in SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_CHANGE. So we called off the migration of ATF to PROD completely for that sprint. The update sets are still in TEST.

Now I have to attempt to migrate again.

If I create another parent update set with the same child update sets namely SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_GLOBAL, SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_INCIDENT, SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_PROBLEM, and 'updated' SP_ATF_WASHINGTON_CHANGE, will I get any errors during the migration.

What would be the best approach? Kindly help.

Regards

Suman P.

Hi @Community Alums

How I do is for each modules say Incident I create sperate Update set and similarly for change, problem etc.

and I move it separately.

Now you can easily move the separate update set to other instance.

Sure it take time but this way there is no issues.

Hi @Shaqeel.

What I have already done is, I recaptured the Change ATF Test Cases of DEV into a new update set and, migrated it alone. I have tested the test cases in TEST. They are working fine.

Yes, this is only the best way.

Similarly, you can do for other modules too.

It minimizes the errors
