Automatic reclamation

Hello everyone,

I received an email today informing me that:

"Your Personal Developer Instance (PDI) is scheduled for automatic reclamation on September 24, 2026."

However, my last activity on the instance was only about a day ago.

I use my PDI every day, or at least every two days.

Could you please explain why I received this email? Am I really going to lose my PDI even though I still need it and actively use it?

PDI gets reclaimed that meet both of these conditions: 

• 90 days or older (based on when they were provisioned) 
• Haven't had a PDI login in the last 10 days

Where it is written-

"When a PDI is reclaimed, the instance is unassigned from you, reset to its original state, and reassigned to another Developer Site user. Reclaiming instances allows ServiceNow to supply active developer site user with free instances."

There is no support available in PDI.

ahoy @jean-baptisp,

the operational costs of PDIs are expensive and currently there are some plans to make them paid in return for having it always available. Not decided yet, survey was conducted some time ago.

I received the same email this week and my PDI was reclaimed, there's nothing you can do about it, rather go and backup your progress and data - either XML exports, update sets or gitHub:

Once your PDI is reclaimed (or you can release it before that) then you can request a new one, mine was provided in few minutes, not waiting at all
