Best practice to filter Config Items against assignment group?

The ask is to filter the cmdb_ci field on SCTASK/INC records so that it better aligns to the group the respective record is linked to. 

 

So for example, if it's assigned to one of our application teams then the only CI's available should be Business Applications. Essentially, if Team A is assigned the they have CI's 1/2/3 to pick from, Team B has CI's 4/5/6

 

Is there a best practice approach to achieving this? 

 

Right now I believe the reference qualifier is OOTB, with simple dictionary overrides included.

That's weird, because it really feels you are putting the world upside down.

Tickets are created to request something or because something is broken (CI) and that needs to be fixed/handled. Based on what that is, you assign it, right?

Hi @Mark Manders - that's correct. The business would like the CI's to be filtered so that they don't need to search through thousands of CI's to get to their applicable CI's. They just quickly get the applicable list of CI's tied to their respective assignment group (in this case it would be the business app class CI's)
