Calendar Text Clipping Issue and Time Adjustment in SN

Hi SN Community,

I am facing an issue with the calendar view in ServiceNow. Here are the details of the problem:

uttkarshupa_1-1741162721691.png

  1. Text Clipping Issue:

    • In the calendar view, the text is getting clipped (cut off) because the cell size is not sufficient to display the entire text.

    • I want the text to be fully visible without clipping.

  2. Time Adjustment Issue:

    • I don’t have the exact timing for some events, which makes it difficult to adjust them properly in the calendar.

    • If I had the timing, I could adjust the events accordingly, but since the timing is unknown, I need a way to handle this.

  3. Requirement:

    • I want to ensure that the data does not get clipped and is displayed properly in the calendar.

    • Additionally, I need a solution to handle events where the timing is not known.

Could you please suggest how I can resolve these issues? Specifically:

  • How can I prevent text clipping in the calendar?

  • How can I handle events where the timing is not known?

  • Is there a way to auto-adjust the calendar cells or use tooltips to display full text?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @uttkarshupa

All the issues you mentioned are expected. The reason is that each cell in the calendar has a limited capacity to display content. If it exceeds this limit, it gets cut off or wraps like this, and that's normal. Try changing the view to "Day" instead of "Week" or "Month" — that’s the only solution. Otherwise, you'll have to bear it as is. Also, consider adding this report to the dashboard and making the space larger; it might help.

It work same as our outlook calendar more item on same slot it will cutoff.

Thank you for your response. I understand the cell limitation, but the issue is specific to Week and Day views (works fine in Month/Year views). I also tried adding it to the dashboard and increasing space, but the same problem persists.

Hi @uttkarshupa

Sorry, there’s no custom way to make that change. You might consider adding a new interactive filter on the plan dates, then filter and view the results. I know it's not the best user experience, but unfortunately, this is what we can do.

Your requirements are currently not supported on the calendar reports.

On PAE Calendar reports you can switch in views so you can show 'daily' as well, which gives more room for text.

I hope you do realize that any kind of report can only show the data which is behind it. If you don't know the time, how do you expect the system to know it?
