I took this issue up with HI. They noticed the max length of the reference field was 900. Changng the field length failed. I needed to change the current Transaction Quota Rules for UI Transactions. 298 seconds max duration was not enough to change the length of the field on all records, so I changed it to 50000 (Just a random big number). Then changed the length on the field and let it ran. I checked on the field and it now shows a label. This is what worked for me, hope it helps somebody.

I had the same issue and it was totally weird. Normally, updating the dictionary of those fields and relabeling helps. If that also doesn't work, then you have recreate it by deleting the corrupted one

Hi,
I had faced the same issue today where in i had created more than 10 columns(Reference/string/choice) in a table and upon click update, all the labels are showing as empty.
But when i tried to edit it, the label value appears. Even in sys_documentation table, these labels did not appear. Adding the label in sys_documentation throwing error as saying the label exist already.Editing each label value and saving again also did not help.
The workaround i did is:
Delete all the empty label columns.Create one column at a time with only Label value and Type entered and press Update for each column individually helps me.Once all the labels name are visible, i have updated all other attributes.
Hope this will help someone someday.

I am facing the same problem right now. Just deployed an update set from dev to Test and the label is missing for Sys_class_name.
I have tried all the steps that were discussed above but nothing seems to be solving.
This is the same situation, initially i had the same problem today with the number field so i recreated it and it is working fine now.
FYI, we are on kingston.
Any help? suggestions?
Thanks
