Per ServiceNow KB0814683, Catalog UI Policies are not applied to the variable summarizer on approval records, and this is expected system behavior.
However, our approvers would prefer a more streamlined view that displays only the information relevant to each specific approval request.
Has anyone implemented a scalable, maintainable solution to address this in the native UI and/or Service Portal?

Hi @Jon23
If your approvers work in the Service Portal or Employee Center rather than the standard Platform UI, they can use the To-dos widget. You can adjust the configuration per table (e.g., Incident, Request)

yes as per KB you can't show/hide variables
I don't think any solution is available
The approvers can see on portal/native the variables whatever was submitted
