We have an Equipment Deployment form that we use to help with the tracking of equipment as it is issued and returned.
On this form the tech will need to select the CI that is being returned and the CI that is being issued from the cmdb_ci_computer table. When adding the record reference field for this, is it possible to have the techs be able to enter the serial number of the equipment instead of the CI? Right now to also verify that they have the right equipment, I have another field that reference this CI look up field to supply the Model ID. Would like that to still work if we can change the CI lookup to be a Serial Number of the CI look up.
I have tried to change the field to a Table Look up, but when doing so, there are too many records to be displayed and only the first 1000 are accessible, which is not desirable with over 40,000 CIs to choose from.
