Colors on WSD portal is not rendering working as expected.

Hi Team,

We are currently facing an issue with color rendering based on space types in ServiceNow WSD.
As per the out-of-the-box configuration, we have defined multiple colors for different space types (e.g., Information/Miscellaneous, Bike, Café, etc.). This color is correctly reflected in Map Studio.
However, in the portal view, the same spaces are rendered using the default green/red colors instead of the configured space type color.
We would like to understand:

Is it feasible to display colors in the portal based on space type / reservable module type, similar to how it appears in Map Studio?
If yes, could you please clarify why the configured color is not being applied in the portal and what additional configuration or steps are required?

We have reviewed available ServiceNow documentation, community posts, and articles, but could not find relevant guidance on this behavior.

Appreciate your support on this at the earliest.
Thanks,

Hi Tanushree,

Thanks for the update.

The current change will address the green/red color behavior. However, the requirement from the client is slightly different. They are expecting color differentiation based on the reservable module type, for example:

  • Desks → Orange
  • Desk with shift -> Pink
  • Meeting rooms → Blue
  • Meeting rooms with required approval→ Yellow

This is similar to how colors are currently rendered in Map Studio.

Could you please confirm if this approach is feasible in the WSD portal as well?

Thanks,
Sakeena
