Concerns About Access to Retired Now Learning Courses

Dear Community,

I want to raise a general concern about access to updated now learning content for those who have already purchased and earned ServiceNow certifications.

As professionals, we invest time, effort, and money to stay certified and relevant in ServiceNow . However, the current system seems to lack support for those who need access to updated course materials when versions changes. Also, once you get certified, even after paying Delta exam fees every year, we aren't having access to latest nowlearning  content for the same .

For example, I got the CIS Vulnerability course based on the Tokyo version (the only version available until January 2024). I planned to take the certification exam in January 2025, but the course was retired before I could complete it. Now, I have no access to either the Tokyo version materials or the updated Xanadu version course without paying again.

Raising a ticket to Now Learning only resulted in receiving a documentation link for Xanadu, which is not a sufficient substitute for the structured learning provided by the course.

This situation highlights a broader concern:

  1. Why don’t certified professionals have access to updated course materials as part of their certification investment? Certification isn’t just about passing an exam; it’s about staying relevant and skilled in the evolving ServiceNow ecosystem.

  2. Why are learners being penalized for delays in course updates? The course remained on the Tokyo version until January 2024, even as ServiceNow introduced newer platform versions. Learners shouldn’t have to pay again because the content wasn’t updated in a timely manner.

  3. Why isn’t there a clear, learner-friendly process for accessing retired and updated materials? Those who have purchased courses and are maintaining certifications through annual Delta exams should have access to updated courses as part of their ongoing certification maintenance.

This issue doesn’t just affect me—it impacts all learners and certified professionals who rely on ServiceNow for career growth. I believe this needs broader attention and a fair resolution from ServiceNow.

If you’ve faced similar challenges, or if you agree that this needs to be addressed, please help amplify this concern so it reaches the ServiceNow team. We need a solution that ensures professionals remain supported throughout their certification journeys.

Thank you for your support and input!

Now , this thread is not relevant. As Servicenow now giving all the courses free via www.learning.servicenow.com and you can enroll to as many courses as you want.

However, to get the voucher , you may required to pay.

A Big thank you to the Servicenow team for considering this required change. This will help many more people to enable and grow in Servicenow !

I second to @pawan k singh , there is alots of improvement areas in nowlearning portal for individual accounts and partner portal account, i recommended few time on diffrent survey that "let's merge" both and add additional feature so use same account for both purpose and any retire course should always visible to users if some active/pending items.

Please mark this response as correct and helpful if it helps you can mark more that one reply as accepted solution

Some of the free learning courses have outdated links as well. For example, there is a training where you can practice forking a NeedIt repository from Github however the needit repository is still set for Utah release. It is March 2025 and Yokohama is the most current release... there's also no options for spinning up a Utah version PDI. The oldest PDI available is Vancouver I believe.

Yes, you are right, even in some courses, like SPM Fundamentals there is huge difference between Xanadu and Vancouver release course. However, both course exist in nowlearning and confusing the user which is to select.

So, timely updating all the courses is required as well as retiring the non relevant courses.
