Configuration item field empty

We have an issue in the task_ci table.

 

The display name of the table is "Affected CIs". It contains the information about  CI, class, support group, and task. But there are records in this table where the Configuration Item field is empty. It does not seem to make sense. What could be the actual reason and solution for it.

Check the XML of the task_ci record. Is the ci_item field empty, or is there a sys_id referenced? It could be that the related CI record was deleted, or doesn't have a display value.

I suspect @Kieran Anson is correct here.  Maybe the tasks got deleted, but not their references.
