Configure filters available on different tables in global search results

Hi all. Hopefully this is an easy one and I'm just not finding the proper place. When searching using the global search, is there a way to control/modify the filters that display for the different tables? For example:

Incidents

Requests

I've tried searching around and have found different related things like sys_search_source and m2m_search_context_config_search_source, but seems that these are just for configuring the initial searches themselves. I can't quite find where these filters are kept. The closest I see are conditionals that can be set on the different search sources in m2m_search_context_config_search_source, but this is different from the filters above.

From your screenshot it looks like you're using the AI Search for Next Experience.  In that case you can go to AI Search -> Search Experience -> Search Applications in the menu, then select the "[AIS] Next Experience Search Configuration" entry.  From there you will see the Facets related list and you can add facets which will appear as the filters.

There's some more documentation on them here: Create a facet in an AI Search application configuration

Hi @Rob Banks

I am not sure if I got your issue correctly or not. I can see OOTB global search results, from where you attached a screenshot or it is what you want to show? If this is what you want to show, I think not possible as of now.

Hello, thanks for your response back. Sorry for not being more clear and also not including more of the search result page in my screenshot. That may have helped a little more. Regardless, Josh Petrick helped out with directing me to the correct location in the AI Search module. I appreciate your time.

Awesome, thank you for this, @Josh Petrick . This was exactly what it is. In my searching, I never turned this up. I also did not know why my search results were looking different from the initial documentation I was seeing on ServiceNow, but the fact that it's AI Search for Next Experience explains it. Ignorance on my part made my searching not helpful. Anyway, thanks for this one more time. I was able to add a new search facet and confirmed that this added the filter option as I was looking for 👍
