Copy choice filed values from parent to child table choice list field

Hello Community,

We have "operating system" field on cmdb_ci_computer table with some OOB choice filed values and OOB these values   are extended to their child tables. In my instance, only 3 values are shown up and I came to know from some community links that if we add our own choices then it will not show the existing inherited choices.

But my requirement is to show the existing values as well and the customized as well. There are around 45 values that are present on cmdb_ci_computer table and I need all these values in cmdb_ci_win_server as well.

Now, Instead of creating all these values again in the child table, does servicenow has some functionality to copy all these values in a one go.

Any leads would be appreciated!

Thanks in Advance!

Hi Anu,

I think you have created a customized choices  directly in  the sys_choice table. Instead go to configure choices by right clicking the field and add the choices from there. Before doing this please delete the created the customized choice from the table.

FYI, Child table always shows the parent choices(not from the child) in the child table. When you add additional choices, a new set of choices will be created for the child table in the sys_choice table for child table automatically.

Mark correct if this helps you.

Thanks,

Vinu

Hi Vinu,

Even if I am creating the choices using configure choice, "Available" slush-bucket will be empty.
