Hi All, I'm trying here to copy the existing service request to create a new one. Once the 'Copy' option is selected, it should not automatically create the new ticket, it should just bring the user to a new form with all of the same user-input fields copied (SD, Description, any other RITM-specific catalog variables); the user should still be required to review the form and submit (and have the capability to add a new attachment, since any old attachments will not carry over) I also had a chance to try the OOB functionality but that doesn't suit my requirement i would like a "Copy" feature to be specific.

Hi Sergiu, I believe we have an OOB functionality to copy a Request but the only problem i'm facing with this feature is it doesn't give a chance to the user to edit or add any new information to the request. Can you please share some links where i can get an idea of how this could be implemented? I will take a look at the copy change feature.

First you need to understand what you mean when you say "Request". Are we talking about the REQ records, or are we talking about RITMS.
I wouldn't touch copy REQUEST. If someone put a gun to my head and told me to do it, I'd say a prayer and wait for the bang.
When it comes to copying RITM in the manner you're asking for, its not so much about scripting the creation of the record, but finding a way to jump to the Catalog Item form and pre-populate it with the values of the record you're copying. Jumping to the Catalog Item form is easy enough... but I have no idea how you'd get it to frontload all the previous record's data.

Hi RObert, I see that the feature we have in OOB work exactly the way i wanted but the only problem i'm facing is i don't have the ability to edit the request which is being created out of "Copy" feature. I agree even i don't have an idea how to bring the data to the form
