Depending on your organization's subscription, you are allowed to create a certain number of custom tables. There are certain base tables that can be extended without impacting this limit, but Task is not one of them. So creating a new table as an extension of the Task table hierarchy reduces the number of remaining custom tables you are allowed to create.
