Currency Conversions on child table

Hi Community,

I have a requirement in SPM (ServiceNow).

There is a parent Project record on the pm_project table that contains a Currency field with multiple currency options. The related child records (such as subprojects, cost plans, financial breakdowns, etc.) contain several currency‑type fields—for example, total cost, subproject cost, revenue, and similar fields.

Requirement:
When a Project record is created, all child records created under that project should automatically use the same currency as specified on the parent Project record.

Current behavior:
All child records default to USD, regardless of the currency selected on the parent Project.

I’m looking for guidance on the recommended approach to ensure currency consistency between the parent project and its child records during creation.

Any suggestions or best practices would be appreciated.

Do those child currency fields have the same currency options? If not, you need to update them to enable using it in that way. And then you need to update the child creation/update logic to include syncing the currency as well.
