The data anonymization feature which is introduced as part of Data privacy - does that work for custom tables as well or only User table ?

Can we configure scheduled jobs as well after classifying data for custom tables ? I couldn't do that in my PDI.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi @Vineetha Rohra1 ,

The data privacy configuration defines tables, sys_user and other, and columns to the de-identified, depending on the use case and specifies parameterized types of the techniques to be used while de-identifying data.

Refer : https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-platform-security/page/administer/data-privacy-store/ta...

So it works for custom tables or not ?

Well, you can have a check if custom tables are visible for Anonymization. It think it may not allow to do so for custom tables.

Yes you can use custom tables, you just need to set it up under Data Classification, Data Discovery and Data Anonymization. Here's how:

  • Add your table + column and the Classification you want the field to have under Data Classification e.g. Confidential.
  • Add the Custom Table to the Target Tables List
  • Setup your Data Discovery Patterns to identify the pattern on a Data Discovery Job (only necessary if you custom table filed has a new pattern type to discover)
  • Setup an Anonymization Policy and decide which technique to use for that field e.g Replace with X
  • Publish your Policy (IMPORTANT)
  • Schedule a Data Anonymization Job
  • Your Data is Anonymized on your custom table 🙂
