How to enable and check whether desktop and mobile app push notification is working??

You can set notification from   Notification Subscription       link in your my account.


Under primary email, you can see there are lots notification already there, you can choose any notification and set on=true, for new notification you need to click on + sign at the top of all records.



For push notification you can see under "ServiceNowPushApp" and similar way you will use the existing from the list or create new one.

that all are email notifications, I want DESKTOP NOTIFICATIONS.

I didnot understand the desktop notification. There are two types of notification - one which send out to email, 2nd push notification that will send out to mobile if app is installed.



Please elaborate your requirement.

in setting gear you will get an option to connect desktop notification also under notifications, after enabling it how to test that desktop notification is working or not like for requested approvals or rejections.

Details of desktop notification -


Enable desktop notifications for collaboration if you want to receive collaboration alerts, such as new messages, even if ServiceNow is minimized or running in the background. Each time you sign in or refresh your instance, a dialog box prompts you to enable desktop notifications. Click OK to dismiss the prompt.

If you plugin is activated and in setting if "Desktop Notification" is on then you will get alert during chat.
