Difference between a Request State and State

Hi

Could someone explain to me the difference between a "Request State" and "State" for a Request Task, as I am unsure what to use to for me to know what the actual Status of the   Request is   i.e. open, closed etc...

I believe the older table level state fields were existing in versions prior to when the [ task ] table got flattened (incident, problem, change all used to be their own table). Now that all these tables are flattened into task, there is really only need for one [ state ] column. Personally I would stick to using [ state ].
