Extend Quote

Hi team!

I'm new to Servicenow and I want to extend Quote table (sn_quote_mgmt_core_quote) with a new Choice field quote_line_grouping in scope of my application. The problem is that there's no access to Quote table from my application. Cross scoped access configured but no use.

No mate,  you need to create in right scope only else it will fail.

Is this a good practice at all to touch an OOTB table? If yes, how that change can be recorded in source control system?

Yes you can touch ootb tables only if there is valid business case but I am worry if the table is not in same scope than it be a problem at source control. Might be dig out more mate before you change

So you are extending table "sn_quote_mgmt_core_quote" in your scope?

If yes then in your scope you cannot add a new choice on any of the choice field available on that sn_quote_mgmt_core_quote table

That's platform behavior and OOTB limitation.

Instead create a new choice field on your extended table and add choices to it

@Ankur Bawiskar  creating a custom table is my plan B, thanks for confirming this solution.

At the same time I want to understand why some OOTB tables can be extended from my app and some not. For example I can add a new column to OOTB table sn_itam_common_assessment_task.
