Flow Designer not updating field of Business Application based on Parent Business Application

I've got a requirement to update some fields on a business application based on the value of the parent business application when approved by two different approvers:

The parent business application is the Parent BIA inherited from field and this is a reference field. The field that I'm trying to update is the Data Classification field:

I'm using the following to get the field  updated via flow designer:

However, when the approvals have been approved, the field appears as blank when it should the below from the parent business application:

I was just wondering if somebody has seen this issue before or knows what I need to do so that the value of the Data classification field comes from parent business application.

Things to check

1) did you check the flow execution? what value it tried to set? share the flow execution screenshots

2) Flow is configured with Run as System or Run as User? may be the user doesn't have write access
