Forced upgrade

Is there a final date that we will be forced to update our instances? Since New York releases in early Sept., how long do we have before we are forced to upgrade.

I'm not sure how they determine it.  In November 29th of 2018 an End of Life change was created by ServiceNow in HI with a start day of March 20th when we were still on Jakarta.  Which is a few weeks after Madrid Patch 1 came out.  So maybe they determine it based on when they expect to release patch 1 for New York.

Hi,

I have my hand in a few pots and one of my customers instances is still on Kingston. They were contacted by SN due to being N-3 as of 9/4 when New York comes out that they will be forced upgraded to Madrid (Patch 4) OR...New York (latest patch) by 9/30, there or about if they don't upgrade by themselves. Due to resources and some other business issues, they did work with SN to get a slight extension, but SN then warns them of the consequences of this and really puts them in a tight position to upgrade.

So....you will not be "forced" to upgrade unless you are still on Kingston for when New York comes out. Otherwise, you may be contacted and warned...but some of it depends on your contracts. Newer contracts I'm hearing are requiring customers to be no more than N-1.

Official support for Kingston ends when New York comes out. Thus the "forced" upgrade. It's more for your own protection than SN being jerks about it all.

You are contact via an official change request that is put in on your behalf and all HI account holders are emailed at that company.

its better ask this question directly in your HI portal as well, by creating a case. That way you can have concrete proof and an accurate answer by ServiceNow itself [Just incase if things get imbalanced in future]

Thank you,
