Global Search with a custom string field and Short description to retrieve the associated record.

I have a custom table named "Legal Task".

When I search with custom string field 'XYZ' /short description fields in global search, it should display and able to access the Legal Task record associated with these fields.  Few articles suggest , need to create a new search source record, but no luck with it.

Can someone please assist with all the configurations to setup for this.

Even though you seem to only want a response from 3 people, let me give my response as well: you have already given the answer yourself: you have to create search sources for this.

You mention that you had no luck with it. What do you mean by that? Did you create them and they didn't work? Then please share what you created. Or were you unable to create the search sources? In that case: what issues did you run into?
Also: how is the table created? Is it in the global scope, or in a different one? If it's the latter: how is the access set?
