Hello Gurus,
I am looking to find out whether it is possible to create a group approval which generates a single email notification that is sent to a group`s email address instead of sending one to each group member... ( Using OUT-OF-BOX Functionality) ?

Yes.. Approvals will be generated for each of the user in the group.. Only control action we can do is, whether each users gets a separate mail to his ID or the email gets sent to the group mail ID

so basically, 10 emails could go in to the same mailbox for the same approval.. right ?

Also, you can always modify your workflow to take one approval per group if needed.

If you have group email, it will go to group email only and not the 10 people. If there is no group email ID, it will go to all the group members.. Irrespective of the email, approval records will be generated for all the members of the group..
