[HELP NEEDED] SSO redirects to backend, while I would like to redirect the user to Service Portal

Hello all,

I have enabled single sign on but a have an issue with redirection.

So, the user enters on login page (they start from portal)

The user uses external login and inserts the UserID.

Then, the user inserts the credentials that exist on the company's VPN and there is a redirection.

However, the user is redirected to the backend while I need to redirect the user to the front end. (the user started from service portal view but is redirected to backend).

I don't understand what I need to change.

Your assistance would be really valuable!!

Thank you in advance,

Smith Johnson.

I'm not sure how you have Single Sign- on turned on but sill get the ServiceNow login page.  This should help but I'm not sure as the end user never sees the ServiceNow login pages whenever I have enabled SSO.

Give this a try:

Search for SSO, Go to Multi-Provider SSO, then select Identity Providers

Select the record you have setup for your SSO provider.

Where it has 'ServiceNow Homepage' add the URL to your SP if that's where you want all users to be directed.

I've added a screen shot.

In our company we have our backend homepage setup, but we only give general users the direct URL to the SP and that opens them directly there after authenticating them automatically.

Hope this helps

@Brian Lancaster @Moedeb Thank you for your replies.

Right now I have followed the directions of @Moedeb

I set my portal as the servicenow homepage but I receive the following error once I try to test the connection.

What am I missing here??

I found this in DOCS site. Under this article https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/paris-platform-administration/page/integrate/saml/reference/saml-...

Looks like your IDP may be miss configured.
